Collection: Kuvar kala

When in Kutch it always feels like being closer to our crafts. The place where all the treasure is stored, not in terms of money but heritage. This part of our cluster visit felt calmer, even though people were not. Hehe. They had it in them to speak a bit louder than normal. It is also because of the lifestyle that they have grown up in. They are Nomads and have lived in open farms, where everyone lives far away and they have to shout to talk to each other all the time which makes them louder in general.  Believe it or not we understood by the end of our visit that this is how it is going to be talking with them.

Kuvarba and her sisters are skilled in Applique and Saakdi (Chain Stitch), both Veju (there are 2 of them), Rati, has fine hands-on pippin applique, where Gita is particularly neat with smallest Saakdi (chain stitch) possible along with traditional motif generation. While Sita can do tiniest folds in the hem finish and Soni specializes in intricate bakhiyo.
